introduction
The Gladstone Ports Corporation was given the responsibility of removing 48m cubic metres of sediment from the seabed to expand the harbour so that large ships could enter it.
Key features:
Deepening and widening of existing channels and swing basins
Creation of new channels, swing basins and berth pockets
Use of dredged material to reclaim land, including 153 ha north of Fisherman's Landing
Dredging and reclamation works in Australia: Unisite supplied the dredging pipeline including y-piece, bend and most wearing pipes (35mm) for Gladstone project.
